Kerkliedwiki:Development
Zie Kerkliedwiki:Ontwikkeling voor de Nederlandse versie.
Our goal
The goal for Kerkliedwiki is to be a source of information regarding church hymns and related subjects. In the first place we are an encyclopedic wiki with pages about hymns, authors, composers, hymn books and any related topics.
Besides that we want to use Semantic Mediawiki to make our wiki into a tool. We want to make it possible for anyone preparing a church service or another event to find hymns appropriate for a certain setting. We want them to be able to search and filter on criteria such as moment in the church year, part in the liturgy, theme, Bible story, hymn type, author, composer, melody and hymn book.
Additionally we want to help performers of church music (choirs and musicians) find practical information and relevant sheet music.
Current status
From 2013 onward users have entered information about hymns into the wiki. As of september 2015 there are over 1,200 content pages.
Initially all information has been entered without the use of templates, forms and SMW. In 2015 a lot of progress has been made in that area. Now we have a template and form for hymns, currently used in over 200 pages. We are currently introducing the template in other hymn pages.
We currently have/are able to do:
- Sjabloon:Infobox lied, infobox for hymns, all pages are in Categorie:Lied, a good example is the hymn Licht dat ons aanstoot in de morgen.
- Formulier:Lied, the form associated with this template.
- Speciaal:GegevensBekijken/Lied, filter on criteria (Semantic Drilldown).
- Categorie:Kerkliedwiki:Sjablonen lijst, templates for simple lists with hymns with a certain property.
- Bible place (= something like "Gen 1:1-5", meaning the book of Genesis, chapter 1, verse 1 through 5)
- Input via the form mentioned above in four separate parts: Bible book, chapter, first verse en last verse.
- Display the complete Bible place in the infobox, readable for users, with a link to Psalm # a Bible book
- Define a subobject with a complete Bible place (1) and the separate parts (2-5)
- Based on this data a table:
- Query using the separate parts
- Sorting based on those same parts
- Display of the complete Bible place
- Examples: De schepping van hemel en aarde and Gebruiker:Ecthelion3/Test_Bijbelplaats#Bij de Bijbelplaatsen
Future plans
- To make templates and forms similar to those mentioned above for authors, composers and hymn books.
- To integrate Bible place into Semantic Drilldown or create a similar function.
- Preferably in a way that users can enter a complete Bible place and the system can dissect the individual parts.
- For each hymn include (on the hymn page) sheet music through a template and form with it's own properties (using subobject).
- Include reading schedules in the wiki, to show on the main page the Bible reading for the next sunday with matching hymns.
- Maybe eventually: create a 'liturgy wizard', people can go through a wizard and create an entire liturgy for a church service or gathering.
